Secondhand Goods Dealers Transaction Records System (SHOTS)

The Secondhand Goods Dealers Transaction Records System (SHOTS) allows Secondhand Goods Dealers to submit purchase transaction records and screen Secondhand Goods before purchase.

SUBMISSION OF PURCHASE TRANSACTION RECORDS FOR SECONDHAND GOODS
Secondhand Dealers who are dealing in the following goods are required to submit the purchase transaction records in SHOTS:

  1. Cameras, video-graphic and photographic equipment including lenses.
  2. Computers including Tablet Personal Computers, Laptops, Palmtops, Personal Digital Assistants and computer accessories.
  3. Handphones, Personal Digital Assistant handphones and Smartphones.
  4. Compact Disc players and Moving Picture Experts Group-1 Audio Layer 3 players and Moving Picture Experts Group-1 Audio Layer 4 players.

 

SCREENING OF SECONDHAND GOODS BEFORE PURCHASE AND BEFORE RENDERING SERVICES
Secondhand Goods Dealers who are dealing in dealing in cameras; video-graphic and photographic equipment including lenses; computers including tablet personal computers, laptops, palmtops, personal digital assistants and computer accessories; handphones; personal digital assistant handphones; smartphones; compact disc players and Moving Picture Experts Group-1 Audio Layer 3 players; and Moving Picture Experts Group-1 Audio Layer 4 players, (Item 1,2, 3 and 4 of The Schedule), are required to screen the item in Second Hands Transaction Records System (SHOTS) before purchase or rendering any service.

Do not purchase the item(s) or provide any services to the item(s), if the screening result shows “RECORD FOUND”. Without undue delay, please make a police report with the name and address of the person who presented you with the item. If the person who presented you with the item is in the shop, please call ‘999’ immediately.
