Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty on board a public bus.
On 15 January 2015, the female victim reported to Police that she was molested by a man while they were travelling in a bus along Bedok Reservoir Road. Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries, established the particulars of the suspect and arrested him within two hours from the receipt of the report.
Investigations against the subject are ongoing. Outrage of Modesty is an offence under Section 354 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the suspect may be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 2 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
