A team of nine officers from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and one forensic pathologist from the Health Sciences Authority departed for Nepal at 9.10am this morning. The team, led by contingent commander Assistant Commissioner of Police Lian Ghim Hua, will join the Singapore Armed Forces and the 69-member Home Team contingent in search and rescue and other disaster relief efforts. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Policy) Lim Kok Thai sent off the team at Changi Airport.
2 Five other officers had also departed for Nepal earlier on 30 April. In addition, the SPF is planning to send more officers over the next few days to aid disaster relief efforts.
