Through investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 31 January 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is also believed to be involved in other cases of theft of bicycles.

The man will be charged in court on 1 February 2020 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code. The offence carries a jail term of up to 3 years, or a fine, or both.
