The Police have arrested a 54-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling.
On 29 January 2020 at about 12.15pm, the Police were alerted to a case where cash was missing from a hawker stall located at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.
Through ground enquiries and investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 30 January 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is also believed to be involved in another case of dishonest misappropriation of property reported on 29 January 2020 in the same vicinity.
The man will be charged in court on 1 February 2020 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries a jail term of up to 7 years and a fine. The offence of dishonest misappropriation of property under Section 403 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries a jail term of up to 2 years, or with fine, or with both.
