A 52-year-old ex-lawyer was charged on 18 February 2020 for committing criminal breach of trust and forgery of a court document.
Between September 2016 and October 2016, in his capacity as an attorney of Advaitha Law Corporation acting for a plaintiff in a civil suit, the accused was believed to have dishonestly misappropriated a total sum of S$15,290 entrusted to him by his client.
In addition, the accused had forged a court document to deceive the same client that he had made a payment of S$30,000 on his behalf to the court when there was no such payment.
The accused has already been struck off the rolls on 14 August 2019.
