The Police have arrested three men, aged between 25 and 28, for their suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases.

Between 17 December 2019 and 5 February 2020, the Police received several reports from victims who were purportedly cheated by the three men who advertised new smartphones at discounted prices on Carousell. Upon purchase and delivery, the victims received used smartphones instead.

Through investigations, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of three men and arrested them between 28 January 2020 and 17 February 2020.

The 28-year-old man will be charged in court on 19 February 2020 with cheating under section 420 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term that may extend to 10 years, and a fine. Investigations against the two other men are ongoing.
