On 22 April 2021, Clementi Police Division presented the Public Spiritedness Award to three members of the public. Fifteen staff from various organisations were also commended for their strong community partnership with the Police.
Cases Commended for Public Spiritedness Award
On 30 November 2020, Mr Adnan Bin Sanjah spotted a man trying to position his mobile phone underneath a woman’s skirt along Clementi Ave 3. The man tried to flee when Mr Adnan shouted at him. Mr Mohamad Sahrin Bin Salleh, who was walking past, managed to stop and detained the man before calling the Police. Their actions led to the arrest of the man for voyeurism.
On 28 December 2020, a man had lodged a police report for missing items he had placed on a table along Clementi Street 13. On 29 December 2020, Mr Sarker Mannan provided the Police with vital information and descriptions of a woman who had taken the items. The Police eventually established the identity of the woman involved in the case of dishonest misappropriation of property.
Case Commended for Community Partnership Award (Individual)
On 19 November 2020, Mr Desmond Ng Thiam Lim had provided the Police with crucial information for a case of armed robbery with hurt. Upon receiving a request from the Police, Mr Desmond had checked and confirmed that the private-hire vehicle which the subjects had boarded was from his company. With this piece of information, the Police managed to ascertain the location and details of the subjects. Mr Desmond’s quick action had led to the swift arrest of three men.
