The Police will be charging a 43-year-old man on 4 May 2021 for failing to ensure that his employees do not engage in any indecent act in a massage establishment.

On 10 September 2020 at about 3pm, the Police were alerted that an employee of the man’s massage establishment along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 had allegedly engaged in an indecent act while providing massage services to a customer. Through follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established that the man had purportedly failed to ensure that his employees do not engage in any indecent act while providing massage services.

The man will be charged with failing to ensure that his employees do not engage in indecent act under Section 12(1)(b) of the Massage Establishments Rules 2018. The offence carries a fine not exceeding $5,000. For repeat offenders, the offence carries a fine not exceeding $10,000, a jail term of up two years, or both.

The Police take a serious view against any person who may be involved in such illicit business operations and perpetrators will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
