Man To Be Charged For His Suspected Involvement In A Case Of Voluntarily Causing Hurt By Dangerous Means

The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means.

On 2 August 2026 at about 7pm, the Police received a call for assistance at Yishun Ring Road. Upon arrival, officers established that the man had a prior dispute with a 14-year-old teenager earlier that day, in relation to an incident that involved the man’s power-assisted bicycle and the teenager’s e-scooter, which resulted in damage to the man’s personal property. During the dispute, the man used a pair of pliers on the teenager, causing superficial injuries. The pliers were seized as a case exhibit.

The man will be charged in court on 4 August 2026 with the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means under Section 324 of the Penal Code 1871, which carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, with caning or fine or both.

The Police take a serious view of such acts of violence in the community and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
