Man To Be Charged For Criminal Breach Of Trust By An Employee

The Police will be charging a 42-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of criminal breach of trust by an employee. 

On 16 May 2026, the Police received a report alleging that the man, who was an employee of a mosque, had misappropriated money from the mosque’s donation boxes. Preliminary investigations revealed that between February 2026 to May 2026, the man was believed to have misappropriated the mosque’s money amounting to more than $14,000 which was entrusted to him in the course of his employment. 

The man will be charged in court on 12 August 2026 with the offence of criminal breach of trust as an employee under Section 408 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 15 years and shall also be liable to a fine.

The Police take a serious view of any person who engages in fraudulent or  dishonest conduct. Offenders will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law.
