The Police would like to alert members of the public to remain vigilant against  fund recovery services scams, which claim to be able to assist people recover their investment from the "Fun Coffee" platform.

Scammers would claim to represent “Fun Coffee” or be from a third-party service provider, offering to assist in recovering funds lost through the “Fun Coffee” platform. Victims would be instructed via online messages to make payments through bank transfers, which scammers described as a deposit, tax payment, fee, etc required to facilitate the recovery of funds. Victims only realised that they had been scammed, when they did not recover their funds as agreed despite making the payments. 

Members of the public are strongly advised to exercise caution with individuals, online services or websites offering to help recover funds lost to scams or investments and adopt the following precautionary measures:

• ADD - Add the ScamShield App to block scam calls and filter SMSes; enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Apple ID and on all cryptocurrency accounts; set transaction limits where available.
  
  
• CHECK - Check the legitimacy of any fund recovery service through official sources and conduct independent verification of the company and its representatives. Be cautious of anyone claiming to represent “Fun Coffee” or a third-party recovery service and requesting payments to recover your losses.
  
  
• TELL - Tell the authorities, family and friends about the scam. If you have encountered a purported fund recovery service or suspect that you have been scammed, report the matter to the Police immediately. If your bank account or payment credentials have been compromised, contact your bank without delay.
