Executive Chairman And Chief Executive Officer Of Eurosports Global Limited Convicted For False Trading

On 9 September 2026, Goh Kim San (“Goh”), the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eurosports Global Limited (“Eurosports”), a company listed on the SGX Catalist, pleaded guilty to three counts of false trading under Section 197(1A)(a) of the Securities and Futures Act, Cap 289 (“SFA”). He was sentenced to a fine of $210,000.

Background

Between 3 June 2015 and 31 July 2018, Goh had three trading accounts in his name and had access to or control over three other trading accounts belonging to third parties. On 13 days during this period, Goh transacted Eurosports shares among these accounts on 31 occasions. These trades contributed significantly to the total market traded volume of Eurosports shares, accounting for between 42.1% and 90.9% of the traded volume on the relevant trading days.

There was no change in beneficial ownership when the above trades took place, as Goh was the beneficial owner of all the Eurosports shares involved in these transactions.

Goh knew that his trades were likely to create a false or misleading appearance of active trading in Eurosports shares yet he continued to trade in such a manner to create an appearance that Eurosports shares were actively traded in the market. By misusing the third-party accounts, Goh also avoided disclosing his Eurosports share purchases, which is mandatory given his position as Chief Executive Officer of Eurosports.

Goh pleaded guilty to the three charges and was sentenced to a fine of S$210,000. Another 16 SFA charges relating to false trading, unauthorised trading and failure to give notice of changes in his interests in Eurosports shares were taken into consideration for the purpose of sentencing.

Goh’s conviction was the result of a joint investigation carried out by the Commercial Affairs Department of the Singapore Police Force and the Monetary Authority of Singapore, following a referral from the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited.
