The Police have arrested a 33-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in a case of voyeurism and distributing intimate recordings involving a vulnerable victim.
On 3 January 2021, the Police received a police report about a woman who had allegedly filmed videos of her bathing her elderly employer and had uploaded one such video on social media. The woman is also believed to have distributed the videos to others.
The woman will be charged in court on 14 October 2021 with voyeurism with enhanced penalties under Section 377BB read with Section 74A of the Penal Code; and distributing intimate recordings with enhanced penalties under Section 377BE read with Section 74A of the Penal Code.
The offence of voyeurism against a vulnerable victim, carries an imprisonment term which may extend to four years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments. The offence of distributing intimate recordings of a vulnerable victim carries an imprisonment term which may extend to ten years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance against those who commit offences against vulnerable victims and will not hesitate to take action against offenders who do so, in accordance with the law.
