Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty

The Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

On 8 May 2020, Police received a report that a female victim had been molested by an unknown man at the Jalan Besar MRT Station on 7 May 2020.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him along Lorong Chencharu on the same day. Police investigations are ongoing. 

The offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code which may extend to two years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishment.
