Man Arrested For Obscene Act In Public Place

The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of obscene act in a public place.

On 10 June 2020, the Police received a report that a man had allegedly masturbated at the void deck of a HDB block along Upper Boon Keng Road.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 14 June 2020. The Police are also investigating the man for possible breaches of safe distancing measures.

The man will be charged in Court on 16 June 2020. The offence of obscene act in public place under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, carries an imprisonment which may extend to 3 months, or with fine, or both.
