Two Men Arrested for Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt with Common Intention

The Police have arrested two men, aged 22 and 24, for their suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt with common intention.

On 29 June 2020 at about 4.40am, the Police were alerted that a man was found with serious injuries along the staircase of Blk 314 Yishun Ring Road. The man was subsequently conveyed unconscious to the hospital.

Through ground enquiries and investigations, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identities of the two men who were believed to be the assailants and arrested them within 10 hours of the report.  The two men and victim are believed to be known to each other.

The two men will be charged in court on 1 July 2020 for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with common intention under Section 325 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term, which may extend to 10 years, and a fine or to caning, upon conviction.
