Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty

The police have arrested a 64-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

On 27 June 2020, the police received a report that a woman was molested by an unknown man along Short Street earlier that day.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 8 July 2020. Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term of up to two years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishment.
