One Man And Two Women To Be Charged In Relation To The Murder And Disposal Of A Child’s Corpse

The Police will be charging a 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman on 25 July 2020 for murder with common intention and disposal of corpse to prevent detection of an offence with common intention in connection with the death of a 4-year-old girl. 

In relation to the same case, a 30-year-old woman will also be charged for disposal of corpse to prevent detection of an offence with common intention.

On 20 July 2020 at about 5.36pm, the police received a report of the 4-year-old girl who had gone missing. Through follow-up investigations, the police established that the girl was dead and identified three suspects, who are believed to be involved in the death and subsequent disposal of the child’s corpse. The 25-year-old woman is the biological mother of the deceased.

The offence of murder with common intention under Section 302(1) read with Section 34 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty. The offence of disposal of corpse to prevent detection of an offence with common intention under Section 308B(1)(b) read with Section 34 of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years.
