Two Men Arrested For Cheating

The Police have arrested two men, aged 42 and 55, for their suspected involvement in separate cases of cheating.

On 7 August 2020 at about 2.55 pm, the Police received a report of alleged cheating. An employee at a pawnshop alleged that both men had separately traded in counterfeit watches between 29 July and 1 August 2020.

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identities of the men and arrested them both on 7 August 2020. The men claimed to be unknown to each other.

Both men will be charged in court on 8 August 2020 for the offence of cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code Chapter 224. The offence carries a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine.
