Man Arrested For Series Of Theft Of Bicycles

The Police have arrested a 49-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of bicycles.

On 13 August 2020, the Police received a report that four bicycles have been stolen from the bicycle bay at the void deck of Blk 528A Pasir Ris Street 51. Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 28 August 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is also believed to be involved in other cases of theft of bicycles in Pasir Ris.

The man will be charged in court on 29 August 2020 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.  The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years, a fine, or both.
