Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty

The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

On 25 October 2020, the Police received a report that a 25-year-old woman had been molested by an unknown man at the vicinity of Bukit Panjang MRT station.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from the police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 27 October 2020. Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term which may extend to two years, or a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishment.
