Man Arrested For Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt

The Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two separate cases of assault committed on 3 November 2020.

On 3 November 2020 and 6 November 2020, the Police received two separate reports from two victims who were allegedly assaulted separately by an unknown man along Bedok North Street 4 on 3 November 2020.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 6 November 2020.

The man will be charged in court on 9 November 2020 with voluntarily causing grievous hurt under Section 325 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years, and a fine or caning.

The Police have zero tolerance towards such acts of violence, and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
