Man Arrested For Criminal Breach Of Trust By An Agent

The Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of criminal breach of trust by an agent. 

On 18 June 2021, the Police received a report that one of the staff from a company had purportedly misappropriated money belonging to the company.

Through investigations, officers from Bedok Police Division arrested the man on 24 June 2021. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was employed as a financial advisor, had allegedly received cash payment from a client and used the money to pay for his existing debts.

Police investigations are ongoing. The offence of criminal breach of trust by an agent under Section 409 of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 20 years and a fine.
