On 3 May 2023 at 12.05am, the Police received a report of a video showing two men fighting with motorcycle helmets at Woodlands Checkpoint. The incident is believed to have taken place on 28 April 2023. With the assistance from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), the identities of the two men, aged 32 and 47, involved were established. They were both detained while entering Singapore on 3 May 2023.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fight stemmed from queue-cutting along the viaduct leading to the departure motorcycle zone at Woodlands Checkpoint. Following that, both men allegedly pushed their motorcycles against each other before getting off their motorcycles and fighting with their helmets.

The Police have zero tolerance towards acts of violence which disturb the public peace. Both men are being investigated for the offence of affray under Section 267B of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment for a term of up to one year, a fine of up to $5,000, or both.
