Two Persons Arrested In Relation To The Death Of Their Child

The Police have arrested a 21-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man for their alleged involvement in the death of their son, an eight-month-old child.

On 2 September 2024, at about 12.40am, the Police were alerted to a case of death at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The 21-year-old woman and 25-year-old man were subsequently arrested in relation to the case.

Both the woman and man will be charged in court on 3 September 2024 for causing and allowing death of child below 14 years of age in the same household under Section 304C of the Penal Code 1871, respectively. The offence is punishable with an imprisonment term of up to 20 years, and shall also be liable to fine, or to caning. Police investigations are ongoing.
