The Police have arrested a 31-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 23 June 2026 at about 8.30pm, the Police received a report that an unknown man allegedly molested an 11-year-old female victim in the vicinity of Woodlands Drive 50.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division and Criminal Investigation Department established the identity of the man and arrested him within a day of the report.
The man will be charged in court on 26 June 2026 with the offence of outrage of modesty punishable under Section 354A(2)(b) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment for a term of not less than three years and not more than 10 years and caning.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who prey on unsuspecting victims and threaten the personal safety of those in the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law. Victims of molestation should move away from the perpetrators and call the police immediately when it is safe to do so. While ensuring their personal safety, victims should try to note key details such as perpetrator’s physical appearance, clothing, the time and location of the incident.
