Man To Be Charged For Criminal Breach Of Trust By An Employee

The Police will be charging a 67-year-old man in court on 13 July 2026 for his suspected involvement in criminal breach of trust by an employee.

On 10 December 2025, the Police received a report from the man, in which he admitted to having misappropriated company funds from his employer over a two-year period.

Through investigations, officers from Bedok Police Division established that the man had misappropriated more than $600,000 in cash from bank deposit bags entrusted to him in the course of his employment. The offence was uncovered after company staff discovered the discrepancies during an audit.

The man will be charged in court on 13 July 2026 with the offence of criminal breach of trust by an employee under Section 408 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 15 years, and shall also be liable to a fine. 

The Police take a serious view of any person who engages in fraudulent or dishonest conduct. Offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
