Security And Traffic Arrangements For National Day Parade 2026 Preview 2

To view real-time crowd levels around Kallang Basin (from 5pm onwards), please visit Crowd@NationalStadium.

The National Day Parade (NDP) 2026 Preview 2 will be held at the National Stadium on Saturday, 1 August 2026, with celebrations extending to areas around the Kallang Basin.

Safety and Security Arrangements

To ensure safety and security at the event, members of the public attending NDP 2026 Preview 2 are advised to arrive early to allow ample time for security checks on persons and belongings. The number of personal belongings brought into the venue should also be minimised to facilitate security clearance.

Any container (100 ml capacity or larger) containing liquid, aerosol or gel will be subjected to additional checks. Canned items including canned drinks will not be allowed into the venue. Each ticket holder will receive an NDP Pack which includes items such as water and light snacks. Action may be taken against anyone who attempts to bring in prohibited items as listed in Annex A.

To prevent overcrowding, police officers, SAF personnel and auxiliary police officers will be regulating the flow of crowd and the number of people entering areas around the National Stadium, such as Stadium Riverside Walk, Tanjong Rhu and Republic Avenue promenade. When crowd levels at these areas reach safety thresholds, these areas will be closed to ensure public safety. Please refer to Annex B for the possible areas of closure. Members of the public are advised to follow the instructions of marshals and police officers on duty.

Members of the public intending to visit areas around the National Stadium should make use of the Crowd@NationalStadium map found on https://go.gov.sg/crowd-at-national-stadium, or by scanning the QR code, to view real-time crowd levels and closed off areas. Members of the public can access the Crowd@NationalStadium map on 1 and 9 August 2026, from 5pm to 10.30pm.

MRT stations such as Stadium, Tanjong Rhu and Nicoll Highway are expected to be very crowded. Members of the public are encouraged to use alternative nearby MRT stations such as Kallang and Mountbatten to avoid the crowds. In the event of overcrowding, trains may temporarily bypass affected stations as a precautionary measure for public safety.

The footways along Merdeka Bridge and Tanjong Rhu Bridge are for transit purposes only. Pedestrians will not be allowed to stop and congregate at these areas.
Members of the public are strongly advised not to cycle in the vicinity of the National Stadium, as the area is expected to be congested. Cycling under such conditions poses a high risk of collision, which may result in injury to oneself and others.

With large crowds expected around the National Stadium, members of the public are advised to be vigilant and to safeguard their belongings at all times.

Traffic Arrangements

To facilitate the event, the following roads and lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic during the stipulated periods:

During periods of road closure, access will only be granted to authorised vehicles and emergency vehicles. Police officers, auxiliary police officers, security officers and Singapore Armed Forces marshals will be deployed at affected junctions to assist and direct motorists.

Traffic delays are expected along Guillemard Road, Sims Way, Nicoll Highway, Mountbatten Road, Tanjong Rhu Road and Stadium Boulevard. Motorists are advised to plan their routes early and avoid these roads. Members of the public travelling to these affected areas are strongly encouraged to use public transport.

Parking at peripheral roads and stopping of vehicles along Nicoll Highway (Merdeka Bridge), ECP (Benjamin Sheares Bridge) and Tanjong Rhu to watch the fireworks are strictly prohibited. The Traffic Police will take enforcement action against errant motorists. Vehicles found parked illegally or causing obstruction will be towed away.

Post-Event Dispersal

At the end of the celebrations, crowd dispersal is likely to be gradual due to the large crowds expected around National Stadium. Members of the public are advised to be patient and to follow the directions of marshals and the police officers on duty.

Members of the public may contact the organiser at 1800-637-2026 for further enquiries.
