The Police have arrested a 21-year-old man and two male teenagers, aged 15 and 19, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motorcycle. 

On 17 August 2026 at about 10pm, the Police were alerted to a case of theft of motorcycle. The victim reported that his motorcycle parked at a carpark along Tampines Street 83 was purportedly stolen. 

Through follow-up investigations and ground enquires, officers from Bedok Police Division and Police Operations Command Centre established the identities of the trio and arrested them on 18 August 2026 within 15 hours of the report. The stolen motorcycle was recovered. 

The 21-year-old man and 19-year-old teenager will be charged in court on 19 August 2026 with the offence of theft of a motor vehicle with common intention under Section 379A read with Section 34 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and a fine. Police investigations into the other 15-year-old teenager are ongoing.

The Police would like to advise all motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

• Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;
• Install an anti-theft alarm for your motorcycle and ensure that it is well-maintained; 
• Remove the ignition key and lock your motorcycle, whenever it is left unattended; and
• Do not leave spare keys or transponders inside any storage compartments of the motorcycle.
