Police have arrested a 27-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of housebreaking at Toh Guan Road East industrial estate.
2 On 12 January 2015 at about 7.51am, Police were alerted to a case of a break-in at a unit located at Toh Guan Road East industrial estate. Three drills, a cash register, and cash amounting to about $4000 were reported stolen from the unit.
3 Upon receiving the information, officers from the Clementi Police Division conducted extensive ground enquires and follow-up investigations to establish the identity of the suspect. Within six hours after receiving the report, the officers arrested him along Geylang Lorong 8 on the same day at about 1.30 pm. The officers also recovered three drills and cash amounting to $2337 that are believed to be stolen by suspect.
4 The suspect will be charged in Court on 14 January 2015 for the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of up to 14 years.
