    Man Arrested For Outrage Of Modesty

    The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.

    On 9 February 2021 at about 11.25am, the Police received a report from a victim informing that she was purportedly molested by an unknown man on board a train on 7 February 2021. Through follow-up investigations, officers from Jurong Police Division and Public Transport Security Command established the identity of the man and arrested him on 22 February 2021.

    The man will be charged in court on 23 February 2021. The offence of outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries an imprisonment term of up to 2 years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
