Enforcement Operation Against Public Entertainment Outlets

The Police conducted a two-day operation against public entertainment outlets along Middle Road and South Bridge Road from 6 to 7 August 2019.

During the operation conducted by Central Police Division, two licensed public entertainment outlets were found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions. A total of 30 persons were arrested for various offences during the operation. The breakdown is as follows;

  • 5 men and 7 women were arrested for not having a work permit
  • 2 women were arrested for not having a work permit and suspected to be illegal immigrants
  • Ten women were arrested for not having a work permit and suspected drug-related offences
  • 5 men and 1 woman were arrested for drug-related offences

Investigations are ongoing.

Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations Public Entertainments Act. The Police take a serious view against anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement actions against those found breaking the law.
