Woman Investigated For Lodging A False Report

The Police are investigating a 46-year-old woman who is believed to have lodged a false report.

On 6 October 2019 at about 6.00pm, the Police received a report that a woman was hurt and robbed of $80 by three unknown men and a woman in the vicinity of Marine Terrace.

During the course of investigations, the investigation officer from Bedok Police Division detected several inconsistencies in the woman’s account. It was established that the woman had lodged a false report and was not a victim of crime.

Investigations against the woman are ongoing. Anyone convicted of giving any information which he or she knows to be false to a public servant is liable to a jail term of up to a year, or a fine of up to $5000, or both.
