The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Commissioner of Police, Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Seri Hj Mohd Jammy bin Hj Muhd Shah Al Islam (Dato Hj Mohd Jammy), was conferred the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Service Order) by President Tony Tan Keng Yam on 18 May 2017 at the Istana State Room. As part of the conferment ceremony programme, Dato Hj Mohd Jammy called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Second Minister for National Development Desmond Lee and Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck.

Dato Hj Mohd Jammy was appointed Commissioner of Police of the RBPF on 29 May 2016. Since his appointment, he has been a strong advocate for closer cooperation and collaboration between the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the RBPF. This has helped to strengthen the operational capabilities of the two Police forces.

Dato Hj Mohd Jammy’s leadership has enabled the longstanding friendship between the RBPF and the SPF to grow in strength with greater collaboration and professional interactions between their officers, and deeper cooperation in the areas of transnational crime, capacity building, training exchanges and professional development.

Dato Hj Mohd Jammy was conferred the Distinguished Service Order for his outstanding contributions in fostering excellent bilateral ties and cooperation between the RBPF and the SPF, which has enhanced the safety and security of both countries.

Highlighting the importance of continued cooperation to combat transnational crime, Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck said: “The SPF and the RBPF have forged strong bilateral ties over the years. The SPF will continue to work closely with the RBPF and deepen our collaboration in fighting transnational crime.”
