Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Gregory Tan Siew Hin (陈秀鑫) assumed the command of Central Police Division on 13 August 2018. He took over from Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Arthur Law Kok Leong (刘国良), who assumed the appointment of Deputy Director, Operations Department at Police Headquarters on the same day.

DAC Tan, 35, joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 2002 and has served 16 years with the SPF. He previously held several key appointments including Commanding Officer of Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre, Senior Assistant Director (Ops Planning) of Joint Operations Division of Ministry of Home Affairs, Head Technical Research Branch of Police Intelligence Department, Deputy Director (Security and Resilience), Strategy Group, Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Commander of Central Police Division.

AC Law, 48, was appointed Commander of Central Police Division on 2 January 2016. He joined the SPF in 1995 and has served 23 years. He has held several key appointments including Commanding Officer of Special Tactics and Rescue Unit, Head Operations of Special Operations Command, Assistant Director (Operations Planning) of Operations Department and Deputy Commander of Central Police Division.

During his tenure as Commander of Central Police Division, AC Law oversaw many successful large-scale security deployments and clinched its first Best Land Division Award in 2018. Beyond the operational successes, AC Law fostered a strong culture within the division centred on the values of family, resilience and camaraderie, which the officers fondly call the “Alpha Spirit”.

Reflecting on his tenure as Commander of Central Police Division, AC Law said, “Officers of Central Police Division have shown that they are resilient and dedicated to accomplishing the mission of the SPF. I am fortunate to have worked with a great team of officers who will spare no effort to ensure that we keep our streets safe and stand ready against terror attacks. Despite the tough operating environment, they have fought a good fight to maintain peace and order. For that, I am truly grateful, and confident that Central Police Division will continue to do well under the new leadership of DAC Gregory Tan”.
