Police have arrested a 54-year-old man who is believed to have committed a series of obscene acts in Yishun.
2 Between 20 Jan 2015 and 10 Feb 2015, at least nine cases of Obscene Acts were reported in Yishun. Following the reports, officers from Yishun North Neighbourhood Police Centre conducted extensive ground enquiries to establish the identity of the suspect.
3 On 12 February 2015, at about 8.29 am, Police received a call from a member of public stating that a man had committed an obscene act at Yishun North. Based on the detailed descriptions provided, the suspect was identified and arrested shortly after. Preliminary investigations revealed that he is believed to be responsible for several other cases of obscene acts in Yishun.
4 The 54-year-old suspect will be charged in Court on 14 February 2015 for the offence of Obscene Act, under Section 294 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he is liable to a fine, imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or both.
