A 37-year-old man, who is believed to have taken an upskirt photo of a 31-year-old woman, is currently assisting the Police in investigations.
2 On 16 February 2015 at about 9am, the woman was ascending an escalator leading to Commonwealth MRT station when she noticed the suspect's mobile phone placed under her skirt from behind. The woman shouted for assistance, causing the suspect to flee from the scene.
3 Through conduct of intensive enquiries and review of footage from Police cameras by Crime Strike Force officers from Queenstown NPC, the suspect's identity was established and eventually traced.
4 Investigations against the suspect are ongoing. If convicted of Insulting the Modesty of a Woman under Section 509 of the Penal Code Chapter 224, the suspect may be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.
