Police have arrested a man for his suspected involvement a series of theft.
2 On 30 April 2015, Police received two reports lodged on theft of laptop from a tertiary institution located at Dover Road. Several other reports were also received by Police earlier relating to theft of laptops from the said location. With the aid of CCTV footage and intensive follow up investigations, Police managed to establish the identity of the suspect. Police have recovered two laptops amounting to S$3,800/- and the clothing and apparel worn by the suspect during the suspected commission of the offence. The suspect is believed to be responsible for at least 3 counts of Theft of Laptop island wide.
3 The suspect will be charged in Court on 09 May 2015 for the offence of Theft of laptop, which is punishable under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries a maximum jail term of three years’ imprisonment, or fine, or both.
