Police have arrested a 18-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of snatch theft along Alexandra Road.
2 On 9 April 2015 at about 10.15 pm, a 60-year-old woman reported to the Police that her handbag containing her personal belongings and valuables was snatched away by an unknown man along Alexandra Road while she was crossing the overhead bridge. Through extensive ground enquiries, Police established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 11 May 2015.
3 The suspect will be charged in Court on 13 May 2015 for the offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
