Police have arrested a 25-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of snatch theft committed at Sentosa.
2 On 20 June 2015 at about 5.30 pm, a 57-year-old woman reported to the Police that her handbag containing her personal belongings and valuables was snatched by an unknown man. The woman shouted for help, which was heard by security officers who came to her assistance. He was detained after a short chase by the security officers and was eventually arrested by Police. The woman’s belongings were recovered.
3 The man will be charged in Court on 22 June 2015 for the offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
