Police have arrested a 20-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty in the lift of a housing estate along Hougang Ave 8.
On 28 October 2015 a 17-year-old woman lodged a Police report informing that she had been molested in the lift of a housing estate along Hougang Ave 8.
Upon receiving the report, officers from Hougang Neighbourhood Police Centre conducted follow-up investigations and arrested the suspect along Hougang Ave 8 about 2 hours later.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 30 October 2015 for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354A(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the subject is liable for imprisonment for a term of not less than 2 years and which may extend to 10 years. He will also be liable for caning.
