The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery reported along Choa Chu Kang Ave 4.

On 11 December 2015, Police received a report that a man had stolen two power banks from a convenience store located along Choa Chu Kang Ave 4. It is believed that the suspect had also pointed a sharp object at the employee who had tried to stop him.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Jurong Division conducted extensive investigations to establish the identity of the suspect. With the aid of POLCAM, the suspect was subsequently arrested on 5 January 2016 in Choa Chu Kang.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 7 January 2016 for the offence of Armed Robbery under Section 392 read with 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of up to 14 years and up to 12 strokes of cane.
