The Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted armed robbery at a unit at Woodlands Point located along Woodlands Centre Road.

On 16 September 2015 at about 12.58pm, a female sales assistant reported that an unknown man armed with a knife had attempted to rob her while in the unit.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Jurong Division conducted extensive investigations and managed to establish the identity of the subject. The man was subsequently arrested on 25 January 2016.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 27 January 2016 with an offence of Attempted Armed Robbery under Section 393 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he face a jail term of up to 14 years and shall be liable for caning of not less than 12 strokes of the cane.
