The Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two cases of motor vehicle thefts along Race Course Road and Kinta Road.

On 30 March 2016 at about 9.00 pm, a 37-year-old woman reported that her company lorry, which was parked along Race Course Road, was stolen.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Central Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and managed to establish the identity of the man. He was subsequently arrested at New Bridge Road on 14 April 2016 at about 5.15 pm. The man is also believed to be involved in another case of theft of motor vehicle reported at Kinta Road.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 16 April 2016 with an offence of Theft of motor vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
