Visit to Criminal Investigation Department by President Tony Tan Keng Yam

President Tony Tan Keng Yam, accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Amrin Amin and Commissioner of Police Mr Hoong Wee Teck, visited the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on 27 April 2016.


President Tan was briefed on the work of SPF and CID and visited CID’s Forensics Division Training Lab and the Technology Crime Forensics Lab that showcased CID’s state-of-the-art crime solving capabilities. President Tan was also given an update on the newly-established CyberCrime Command, which was set up in June 2015 within the CID to advance capabilities in technology crime investigations, forensics and intelligence.

 

President Tan met officers from the various branches in CID. He commended the good work of the SPF and in particular, CID, in leveraging technology in the fight against crime and terrorism.
