The Police Coast Guard (PCG) arrested a 22-year-old man for unlawful entry into Singapore on 2 May 2016.

 

On 2 May 2016 at about 12.46am, PCG detected a floating object believed to be a swimmer at the sea off Gedong, Singapore. PCG immediately deployed both land and sea resources to intercept the swimmer. At about 12.56am, a PCG craft successfully intercepted and arrested the man for the offence of unlawful entry into Singapore under the Immigration Act (Chapter 133). 

 

Commander of the Police Coast Guard, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Hsu Sin Yun said, "I wish to commend my officers for their vigilance and swift action resulting in this successful arrest. PCG will spare no efforts to keep out intruders and ensure the safety and security of Singapore waters”.
