The Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft reported along Balestier Road on 14 May 2016.

 

On 14 May 2016 at about 7.01 am, a 34-year-old woman reported that an unknown man had snatched and fled with her purse while she was walking along Balestier. Through extensive ground enquiries and follow up investigations, officers from Tanglin Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Bangkit Road on 17 May 2016.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 19 May 2016 with an offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
