The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man believed to be involved in a case of Robbery with Hurt committed along Rochor Canal Road. 

 

On 19 June 2016 at about 11.38pm, Police received a report regarding a male victim being punched on his face and robbed of $200/- by an unknown man earlier on the same day. Officers from Central Division conducted extensive ground enquiries to establish the identity of the suspect. Within three hours from the time of the report, the officers arrested him along Buffalo Road and recovered the stolen money.

 

The suspect will be charged in the Court on 21 June 2016 with the offence of Robbery with Hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces a jail term which may extend to not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years, and shall also be punished with caning with not less than 12 strokes.
