Sixty-two Safety and Security Watch Group (SSWG) members received the prestigious Outstanding Cluster and Individual awards from Mr Desmond Lee, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development at the National Safety and Security Watch Group (NSSWG) Award Ceremony 2016 held at Orchard Hotel Singapore on Friday 24 June 2016.

 

The NSSWG award recognises members at the national level for their collaboration with the Police and SCDF in enhancing the safety and security of their workplaces. Such efforts include enhancing the security measures at their premises and participating in emergency preparedness exercises to test the effectiveness of and to validate their contingency plans.

 

Another 107 members received the SSWG Cluster, Individual and Commendation Awards from Deputy Commissioner of Police (Policy) Lim Kok Thai and Deputy Commissioner of SCDF Chong Hoi Hung.

 

Safety and Security Watch Group – Supporting SG Secure

 

Under the SG Secure National Movement, the Police and SCDF will continue to work closely with the SSWG members to sensitise, train, exercise and mobilise the workplace community to be vigilant and be prepared to deal with any terrorist threat. A series of SG Secure Seminars will also be held for the SSWG members in the various industries over the next few months to deepen the outreach to these industries.

 

 

Guest-of-Honour, Mr Desmond Lee, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development, delivered the opening address at the NSSWG Award Ceremony.

The Merlimau Cluster, awarded the SSWG Outstanding Cluster Award, collaborates closely with the Police and SCDF officers on safety and security matters.
